Number operations prepare students to understand real world discussions within counting, such as How many are left? and How many more are there?
Lock and Key Addition puzzles is an advanced level of number sense for students to match the correct number to the addition. Once students have become familiar with symbols for factorization, this activity would be suitable for students to practice on their own or in groups (Brownell, 2014).
