Apple Patterns Activity
According to Big Ideas of Early Mathematics, "Pattern is a predictable sequence found in physical and geometric situations as well as in numbers. Patterns exist in many forms: a visual pattern might be in a floor-tile design or stained glass window; auditory patterns include musical rhythms, clocks ticking, or the sound of footsteps; movement patterns are found in dance and walking; temporal patterns include hours and minutes, the days of the week, or seasons; and numerical patterns show up in an array of square numbers, the sequence of odd and even numbers, or the predictability of the 10-base system. (Brownell, 2014 p 83-84)
